Great success for Technogym’s “Let’s Move for Rio campaign” – 600 equipment donated

The global leader in fitness and wellness and official supplier to the Rio 2016 Olympic Games has involved athletes and sport enthusiasts to donate their exercise and to convert it in equipment that Technogym will donate, after the games, to 22 public gyms in Rio most disadvantaged communities

Mission accomplished! Thanks to the “Let’s move for Rio” social campaign Technogym – Official supplier for athletes training at Rio 2016 Olympic Games – will donate 600 fitness equipment to Rio most disadvantaged communities public sport centers.

For Technogym, internationally recognized for setting the standard in athletic training, rehabilitation and wellness, Rio 2016 represents the sixth Olympic experience after Sydney 2000, Athens 2004, Turin 2006, Beijing 2008 and London 2012.

Technogym’s commitment for the Rio 2016 Olympics has gone far beyond the company’s role of Official Supplier for the athletes training centers and has aimed to concretely contribute to Rio 2016 Olympic legacy. In conjunction with Rio 2016 Technogym has launched the “Let’s Move for Rio” social campaign with the goal of donating part of the equipment provided to the Olympic training facilities to Rio most disadvantaged communities. Through the Technogym digital platform Mywellness cloud, during the Olympics, athletes and wellness enthusiasts have been able to measure their physical exercise – both on the equipment and thanks to the free Technogym mobile app -  and transform it into equipment that Technogym will donate to 22 public gyms in Rio’s most disadvantaged communities. At the Olympic Village athletes have collected MOVEs – the unit of measurement of the movement defined by Technogym – by training on the connected Technogym equipment, while people have joined the campaign by just downloading the Technogym app. For each 75.000 MOVEs collected globally Technogym will donate 1 equipment to the community gyms selected together with the Empresa Olimpica Municipal that is part of the Municipality of Rio de Janeiro. Today the campaign reached the final objective of 600 equipment.
