A piece of design enveloped in jacquard silk obtained by reusing and repurposing existing fabric
Uchronia
A multidisciplinary collective rather than a traditional studio, Uchronia derives its name from a neologism designating a "non-time" in which history is rewritten not as it was, but as it could have been. From residences to restaurants, from set designs to boutiques, it creates spaces with a unique identity.
Like a jewelry box, the Technogym Bench is enveloped in jacquard silk obtained by reusing and repurposing existing fabric in a zero-waste production process. The carpet above the Bench is made with scraps from “Waving River” fabric, crafted at Manufacture de Soie Prelle in Lyon, while dumbbells are wrapped with selvedges - waste produced by the weaving process - almost echoing cheerleaders’ pom-poms.

Design to Move
A special exhibition held at Technogym Milano during 2024 Design Week, Design to Move explores the unique and profound connection between design and wellness, style and functionality, emotional and tangible. The exclusive Technogym Bench collection, beyond its functional use, serves as an artistic expression and a symbol of social responsibility. After being showcased at Milan Design Week, the creations will be auctioned off in collaboration with Sotheby's and sold on technogym.com. All profits will be donated to UNICEF*.
