A meticulously crafted adventure in outer space
Osiris Hertman
Born in Tilburg, Netherlands, in 1972, he showed an early interest in crafting items as a child. After graduating from the Design Academy in Eindhoven, he established himself in Amsterdam, experimenting with various disciplines. He describes himself as a versatile craftsman and tactile designer.
In Moon Surface, the Technogym Bench becomes part of a space adventure without gravity. The artist meticulously crafted it by casting aluminum as a brittle biscuit plate, then spraying it with Ferrari car paint gold, and finally pouring eight layers of epoxy. Air bubbles were added layer by layer, day after day, creating a fairytale moonscape that invites tactile exploration.
