Revisiting contemporary Aboriginal arts practice in a playful perspective
Konstantina (Kate Constantine)
Proud Gadigal woman of the Eora nation and neo-contemporary Indigenous artist, she re-imagines her peoples' dot painting traditions. She is passionate about her cultural identity, which has been lost or manipulated since colonization. Her artworks are a physical manifestation of these stories.
The artwork painted on the Technogym Bench is from the series Ken Done Loves, in which Konstantina revisits themes related to her contemporary Aboriginal arts practice in a playful perspective. Colorful and funny surfaces are recreated using the dot painting technique. As the title suggests, the artwork pays tribute to Australian artist Ken Done and his colorful storytelling of Sydney.
Design to Move
A special exhibition held at Technogym Milano during 2024 Design Week, Design to Move explores the unique and profound connection between design and wellness, style and functionality, emotional and tangible. The exclusive Technogym Bench collection, beyond its functional use, serves as an artistic expression and a symbol of social responsibility. After being showcased at Milan Design Week, the creations will be auctioned off in collaboration with Sotheby's and sold on technogym.com. All profits will be donated to UNICEF*.
