Shafei Xia
A young Chinese artist, she primarily works with painting and sculpture. Her visual imagery is rich in references to Chinese culture and traditional painting. Symbolic animals like the tiger, pig, and turtle are often featured in her works, portrayed in an ironic and contemporary language.
The concepts of energy, strength, and determination lie at the heart of this interpretation of the Technogym Bench, drawing inspiration from traditional Chinese culture. Two animals with deep symbolic meaning dominate the scene: a majestic tiger, emblematic of power and instinctive strength, symbolizing energy in Chinese alchemy, and a pig, representing perseverance towards achieving one’s goals.
Design to Move
A special exhibition held at Technogym Milano during 2024 Design Week, Design to Move explores the unique and profound connection between design and wellness, style and functionality, emotional and tangible. The exclusive Technogym Bench collection, beyond its functional use, serves as an artistic expression and a symbol of social responsibility. After being showcased at Milan Design Week, the creations will be auctioned off in collaboration with Sotheby's and sold on technogym.com. All profits will be donated to UNICEF*.
