When Cookson Adventures needed to create a bespoke home gym for a family holidaying in an off-market Elizabethan manor, they partnered with Technogym for seamless delivery of elevated luxury.
The home gym was delivered in complete discretion, transforming a glass-roofed courtyard into a wellness sanctuary. Project Manager, Max Balbernie, explains why Technogym were chosen as partners for Cookson Adventures’ first bespoke client home gym.

Founded by polar explorer Henry Cookson, Cookson Adventures has redefined ultra-luxury travel by combining exploration, science, and purpose. From remote expeditions to underwater discoveries, every journey is built around creating experiences that transcend the ordinary.
“We specialise in one-of-a-kind adventures that help people disconnect and push their boundaries,” says Max. “Wellness is becoming increasingly important, and Technogym’s equipment matches our clients’ expectations and our promise of excellence. The partnership is a natural fit.”
Cookson Adventures were eager to install a Technogym as it is a brand the clients would have already been familiar with from stays in other private properties and on previous yacht charters. They wanted to maintain the connection and continuity of the wellness solutions they enjoy in their daily lives wherever they travel. Cookson Adventures and Technogym partnered to bring the request to life, creating a home gym that mirrored the quality their clients enjoy at home.

The client wanted to holiday in a beautiful home that had a fitness and wellness space. Max found the perfect off-market property through Cookson Adventures’ network, but it didn’t have a home gym. Knowing that the temporary wellness space had to be of the very highest standard, Max turned to Technogym to collaborate on the project, relying on them to advise, supply, and install the home gym during the busy set-up period.
“Technogym were the obvious choice,” said Max. “They are a familiar luxury brand, leaders in their space, and incredibly helpful. I could rely on them from start to finish, which made my job much easier.”
Max identified a glass-roofed courtyard as the ideal location for the temporary home gym and Technogym worked with Cookson’s team to design and install a bespoke home gym that matched the aesthetic and functional standards of a world-class wellness retreat.
The setup included Technogym Run – for cardio and power training –, Technogym Connected Dumbbells – for tailored strength training –, Technogym Ride – for the most realistic indoor cycling experience – and all-in-one station Technogym Bench, creating a connected ecosystem that enabled the family to continue their personalised training programmes throughout their stay.
The space became a central part of the family’s stay, a retreat they used twice a day to focus on movement, recovery, and connection. The home gym was so well-received that it set a new benchmark for how Cookson integrates wellness into private holidays.
